Unleash Your Voice

The Breakdown is an in-depth series of interviews hosted by Costa Zouliou ex triple j radio broadcaster, music enthusiast and part time photog. Join me as we shine a spotlight on up and coming local artists, established bands and anyone who has a story to tell.  We're glad you're here to be a part of our story.

Here are the first three in a series of four interviews with proud Western GuGu Yalanji & Birrigubba man, Jungaji.

Jungaji is a First Nations songman, visual artist, playwright, and activist who has been renowned in the Australian music industry for three decades.

Back in the 90s, as a teenager Jungaji was a member of Aim4More and almost 3 decades later he’s found a new musical path fusing Soul and R&B to create a unique and authentic sound that showcases his cultural roots.

Davey Lane’s long-anticipated new solo album, Finally, A Party Record is out now and I had a chat with him about the making of the new record, hanging with Todd Rundgren and is to ok to like Oasis these days?!

Gather up folks for one of the best tours coming your way this year. Dave Graney ‘n’ The Coral Snakes are hitting the road this October/November for a national tour to mark 30 years since he release of their iconic, 1995 Gold-selling albumThe Soft 'n' Sexy Sound. I caught up with Dave Graneyn and Clare Moore to talk about all things Rock n Roll.

After a thunderous debut that shook the earth and scorched the stage, NECROSONIC FESTIVAL is back for its second year of sonic carnage, returning to Mansfield Tavern on Saturday 23rd August 2025. Costa Zouliou spoke with the creator of The Necrosonic Festival, Kent Haines.

THE DAISYCUTTERS    If you like your pop music with bite - cheeky hooks and choruses you wish you'd thought of and a touch of pathos, well look no further, The Daisycutters from Brisbane/Gold Coast have you covered. I was lucky enough to be at ground zero when the Daisycutters were unearthed by triple j back in 1999. Over the years the boys always brought me in their new releases (and often some yummy pastries) so I could play them on the radio. From Sick Day and Kiss Me Stupid and right up to their most recent release If Today Was A Movie I'd Be Slashing The Seats (see what I mean?) from their most recent album Become What you Are, The Daisycutters just might be your next favourite band. Check 'em out.
